Our School Takes Part in a Guinness World Record Reading Attempt!
Our children recently took part in an exciting reading event organised by the National Literacy Trust, as part of an attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the most people reading online in 12 hours! Classes across the school joined the online workshops, celebrating the joy of reading and sharing stories together.
Our younger readers enjoyed Super Uma by Rashmi Sirdeshpande, followed by a fun draw-along activity with illustrator Nakul P. Meanwhile, our older children listened to author Frank Cottrell-Boyce read from The Blockbusters! and explored themes of cinema and culture. Each workshop included a special ten-minute reading session, allowing children to join readers from across the World in this record-breaking challenge.
It was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate books, discover new authors and illustrators and remind ourselves of the power of reading to bring people together. We are proud of our children for getting involved and helping to promote a lifelong love of reading!
